The San Pedro Historic Waterfront District (PBID) invests in programs and improvements that create a safe, clean, and vibrant community for residents, businesses, and visitors.

District Safety
Security Ambassadors patrol the District seven days a week on foot and by bike. They also provide escorts to vehicles or residences within PBID service hours.

Clean & Maintained Streets
Graffiti Removal
Graffiti is removed promptly at no cost to PBID stakeholders. The eradication team also repaints affected areas.
Alley Cleaning
Alleys are cleared twice weekly (Tuesday & Friday), removing litter and illegally dumped items.
Street & Sidewalk Cleaning

Sidewalks are pressure-washed on a scheduled basis
Coastal Cleaning & Maintenance
Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Downtown Planters & Landscaping
The District installs and maintains planters, enhances soil quality, and uses drought-resistant plants. Annual tree trimming ensures businesses remain visible and trees stay healthy.
Streetscape Furniture
Old benches, planters, and trash receptacles have been replaced with new iron pieces that complement the District’s historic lighting and streetscape design.
